About the BWA

The BWA is an association of enthusiasts interested in keeping, breeding and conserving all kinds of waterfowl - wildfowl, domestic ducks and geese.

We are a registered charity dedicated to education about waterfowl and their conservation, as well as to raising the standards of keeping and breeding ducks, geese and swans in captivity.

NEWS

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Mike Griffiths, a long standing member of the BWA. Mike served as President from 2000 to 2003 and was a very successful breeder of Wildfowl, Exhibition Call Ducks and Brecon Buff Geese. Our sympathy is extended to Anne and the family.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday 7th December at 11.00 at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Hosey Hill, Westerham, Kent.

AGM DETAILS

Venue: At the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Slimbridge, Gloucestershire, GL2 7BT, in the Peng observatory which overlooks some of the lakes.

PROGRAMME FOR THE DAY

10.30am  Coffee and tea before the AGM free of charge to members.
11.00am Annual General Meeting, including presentation of awards
12.30pm Hot lunch will be available free of charge to members, but you must get a numbered ticket from the BWA secretary by 14th FEBRUARY 2017, otherwise you will be able to buy lunch from the cafe. Please inform the Secretary if you are vegetarian.
1.30pm Talk/Presentation will be given by Phoebe Vaughan, Aviculture warden at WWT, Slimbridge.
2.30pm Time to stroll round the Trust (without a guide) to view the latest developments and, of course, the birds, ending with a cup of tea/coffee at the WWT cafe.
5.00pm Skittles at the Tudor Arms
6.00pm Floodlit Swan feed at the Trust. Details to be announced on the day at the AGM.
7.00pm An informal get together at the Tudor Arms, Slimbridge, where members can buy their own food and drink on the evening.
